“We’re all happy”, “Lions!” – Twitter erupts in joy as Liverpool star captains national team to a stunning win

This certainly is the World Cup of shock results and we got to see the latest one when Senegal faced Poland. The European side is ranked among the top-10 by FIFA and have the likes of Robert Lewandowski and Piotr Zielinski in their side. But Sadio Mane and his boys had other plans.

The African sides have not impressed a lot in this tournament but Mane got Senegal over the line. The first goal came via a deflection as Thiago Cionek deflected a shot into his own net.

There was some controversy regarding the second goal as M’Baye Niang came on to the field after receiving treatment and slotted the ball into the net after Wojciech Szczesny came rushing out and missed the ball.

Poland did get one goal back via Grzegorz Krychowiak in the 85th minute but Senegal held on for three points.

Mane might not have been amongst the goals but he ran his socks off for the side and Twitter was certainly flooded with reactions for the Liverpool man and his team.
