Reputed British Journalist Rubbishes Of Rumours About A New Goalkeeper Target For Liverpool

According to Daily Mail reporter Dominic King, Liverpool are not interested in signing Leicester City’s Danish goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel.

Schmeichel, 31, was in stunning form for Denmark last weekend as he saved a Luka Modric penalty in extra-time to take Croatia to a penalty shootout. But despite saving two more spot-kicks, he was unable to keep Denmark in the World Cup

The shot-stopper’s impressive form between the sticks has sparked speculation about his future, with AS Roma and Chelsea setting sights on him, as per the Sky Sports.

Meanwhile, Liverpool have been linked with a massive number of new goalkeepers this summer. And the Leicester City man is the latest name to emerge as a potential replacement Loris Karius.

Karius had a nightmarish Champions League final and his place appears to be under threat, while Simon Mignolet will hold talks

with the Reds after the conclusion of the World Cup. But as per Dominic King, Kasper Schmeichel is Jurgen Klopp’s radar, which is surprising given his eye-catching performances in Russia.

Schmeichel has been at Leicester City since signing from Leeds United in 2011. In these last seven years, he has established himself as the undisputed No.1 for the Foxes and was a crucial component in their fairytale Premier League title win in the 2015/16 campaign.
