“There are options” – Liverpool star’s agent opens up about player’s possible move away from Anfield

Simon Mignolet might find it hard to play regular games at Liverpool, with Alisson coming in at Liverpool but his agent claims that it is not the end of the road for the player at Anfield.

Nico Vaesen was speaking to Walfoot

(h/t Express) where he claimed that even though Alisson would not be warming the bench due to his value, he is trying the best to find a solution for Mignolet.

“Our goal is to find a solution for Simon to play and Alisson’s arrival doesn’t change that. We know that a player of €60-70m won’t find himself on the bench.”

Mignolet’s agent did reveal that the player might have few options and claimed that the next few days would be important for the future of the 30-year-old.

“There are options, the next few days will be decisive.”

The 30-year-old was made the second choice under Jurgen Klopp last season but Loris Karius has not provided a lot of confidence after a number of errors in goal.

Alisson coming in has certainly changed the complexion of the goalkeeping situation at the club but we need to sell one of either Karius or Mignolet.

It would be better to let go of the ageing Mignolet and keep Karius as we could still develop him into a quality player in the coming years.

Mignolet, for his part, could be looking at a move away to ensure he gets more playing time and he did come third in the World Cup with his Belgium side, even though he did not see a lot of action.

The Belgian was a decent signing a few years ago but his time has come to leave and we should try to make the most of it while we can.
