“Mo is the best player in the world” – Some Liverpool fans go wild after Salah and Mane defeat Man City

Liverpool got back to winning ways in the International Champions Cup as the Reds defeated Manchester City 2-1.

While we had lost the last match at the hands of Borussia Dortmund, this should have been a straightforward win as City were mostly fielding youngsters, though they did play Riyad Mahrez.

In the end, it was Mohamed Salah

and Sadio Mane who got the goals for us but City opened the scoring via Leroy Sane.

The young guns were the better team until we brought on Salah and the Egyptian took only 70 seconds to score a header after a great cross from Rafael Camacho in the 63rd minute.

Salah was the chief tormentor and it looked like he was back to his best as he hit the bar and even had a header deflected wide.

The match seemed to be heading for a draw as Mane missed a couple of decent chances but late on in the game, Dominic Solanke was pushed inside the box when trying to reach a Salah chip.

The referee pointed to the spot and Mane made no mistake as the Reds came out on top in the 93rd minute.

While the performance in the first half wasn’t great, Salah and Mane changed the complexion of the game. The duo seems to be in great form and the Liverpool fans were quick to recognise that as they enjoyed our fourth consecutive victory over City.
