Petr Cech posts cheeky tweet in response to Alisson’s clean sheet record at Liverpool

Latest Liverpool news: Petr Cech has cheeky dig at Alisson’s incredible start at Liverpool

Liverpool summer signing Alisson has had a wonderful start to his career at Anfield. The Brazilian joined for a then world record fee from AS Roma and has helped us become the stingiest defence in the Premier League.

The Reds have conceded just 15 goals from 29 Premier League games. Liverpool might have fallen to second in the table recently, but Alisson has made a big impression.

The Premier League shared an incredible stat where Alisson has kept more clean sheets in his debut season since Pepe Reina in 2005/06.

Reina was possibly the best keeper we had prior to Alisson, but the Spaniard struggled during the end of his time at Anfield.

However, Petr Cech was excellent in between the sticks during his time with Chelsea, and had a cheeky reply to the Premier League’s tweet.

One of the best in the Premier League era

The Czech keeper made his name with Chelsea and was part of the all-conquering side that Jose Mourinho had built back in 2005.

The current Arsenal star holds the record of 24 clean sheets in his debut season in the Premier League. Alisson could still break that given he has 17 to his name and has nine more games left in the campaign.

The Arsenal man also holds the record for most clean sheets in the Premier League, however, Alisson needs to take it one game at a time.

The Brazilian has a long way to go before he can be considered an Anfield legend, but he can move on step closer if we lift a trophy this season.
