Bild (h/t Mirror) claims that Liverpool’s long-term interest in German star Julian Brandt is over.
The 23-year-old attacker has been linked with Liverpool for a while, but the report claims that Jurgen Klopp will look at other options as he plans to strengthen the side in the summer.
The report adds that the attacker is closing in on joining Borussia Dortmund, and his father is already in talks with the Bundesliga giants.
The 23-year-old has been in decent touch for Bayern Leverkusen with eight goals and 12 assists in all competitions.
Bild (h/t ESPN) adds that Brandt has a release clause of just €25m
in his contract, and he would have made a great signing for the Reds. The German can take on several roles in the attack and midfield and has the potential to develop further in the coming years.
Brandt would have given us a quality attacking option off the bench and would have provided competition for our forward line.
The manager has a great record regarding transfers since joining the Reds, and hopefully, we sign the right players to make the team better.
Liverpool have improved with each season under the German, and we could end this campaign with some silverware too.
