Mohamed Salah ended the Premier League season without scoring against Wolverhampton Wanderers but still won the Golden Boot.
The Egyptian bagged 22 goals this season in the Premier League and saw Sadio Mane and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang reach that total on the last day.
Mane bagged a brace in the win over Wolves while Aubameyang did the same against Burnley. The prize will be shared between the three African superstars, and Jurgen Klopp joked about his players winning the award (h/t BBC):
“Auba too? Do they have three boots? It is good. They are all my players.”
Auba spent a few years under Klopp while the pair was at Borussia Dortmund, and has been great for Arsenal this season.
Salah won the title last season too and the forward had a cheeky post to celebrate the Golden Boot.
The Egyptian could not match his feat from last season where he bagged 32 Premier League goals from 38 games, but the 22 goals prove that the forward is not a ‘one-season’ wonder.
There was a stretch of games where he struggled to score in the campaign, but he was still a threat and created goals for his teammates.
Liverpool could not usurp Manchester City on the final day of the season but they have a great chance of winning the Champions League on June 1.
The Reds face Tottenham in Madrid and hopefully, Salah and Mane can fire us to a sixth Champions League title.
