Latest Liverpool news: Fabinho not selected for Brazil’s Copa America team

The summer won’t be free for South American players as the Copa America is scheduled after the season ends.

Brazil and Argentina will be two of the teams looking to pick up the title, and the Samba Boys released their team for the tournament and it included two Liverpool stars.

Alisson and Roberto Firmino made the cut for the national team but Fabinho missed out on Tite’s side.

Firmino wasn’t at his best but he scored 16 goals in all competitions for us while Alisson won the Golden Glove in his first season at Liverpool.

Fabinho might have taken some time to get accustomed to the Premier League but him not making the team was a bit of a surprise.

Tite names more surprises

The 23-man squad for the 45th Copa America had another surprise with former Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho making the cut.

The Brazilian hasn’t been great for Barcelona this season and struggled in the two Champions League ties against us. However, the big talking point amongst some of the Liverpool fans was the omission of Fabinho.

The midfielder was excellent in the second leg against Barcelona in the Champions League semifinal, and he will have a huge role to play next season.

The former Monaco star would get some time to rest ahead of the coming season, however, many Liverpool fans were unhappy that Fabinho was not selected for the tournament.
