Liverpool FC transfer news: Liverpool in talks with German striker Max Kruse

The Sunday Express (h/t Daily Star) reports that Liverpool are in talks with Max Kruse as they look to secure the services of the German.

The 31-year-old scored 11 times and provided 8 assists in the Bundesliga last season and is available for free.

The striker was contracted to Werder Bremen last season, and the report claims that Liverpool want to bolster their attack in the summer.

The Champions League winners face a lot of competition for the German, with Fenerbahce, AS Roma and Bayern Munich interested in the 31-year-old, according to the report.

Daniel Sturridge’s future unclear at Liverpool

Daniel Sturridge celebrated a Champions League win on Saturday, but the report claims that the Englishman’s future is unclear at Liverpool.

The former Chelsea striker has struggled for starts under Jurgen Klopp and has seen Divock Origi being preferred as a replacement to Roberto Firmino.

Sturridge has also struggled with injuries during his time at Anfield, however, he was fit for most of the campaign this time around.

Kruse would make a decent free signing for the Reds as he can play in several positions in the final third. The problem with the German is his age and Liverpool have a young striker in Rhian Brewster already on the books.

Origi has come up with some big goals this season too, and the Belgian should play a huge part in our campaign next time around.
