“We have to do the same” – Klopp provides positive message regarding transfers as Liverpool look to compete

Latest Liverpool news: Jurgen Klopp open to splashing cash to compete with rivals

Jurgen Klopp has hinted that he is willing to spend in the transfer market to compete with rivals.

Liverpool spent big to sign Alisson, Virgil van Dijk, Naby Keita and Fabinho in recent transfer windows, however, the Express claims that a relatively quiet transfer window was expected from the Reds this season.

Liverpool don’t have too many weaknesses in the current side, but Klopp told German outlet ZDF that he was willing to spend to compete with the rivals (h/t Express

“Liverpool is an ambitious club and if we didn’t spend the same amount of money as others, we wouldn’t be able to compete. Everybody’s splashing the cash, so we have to do the same.”

Manchester City have been one of the biggest spenders in the Premier League since Klopp took over, yet we took them all the way in the race for the Premier League crown.

The Reds lost the title by one point despite losing just one game in the Premier League campaign.

Liverpool, however, did have something to celebrate at the end of the campaign as they lifted the Champions League crown.

The German might have spent big but most of his signings have come good at Anfield.
