Liverpool’s latest decision over 23-year-old star is the right move for all parties involved – opinion

Liverpool opinion: Liverpool’s decision to send Marko Grujic on loan to a big club is the right move

The Liverpool Echo reports that the Reds are likely to send Serbian midfielder Marko Grujic out on loan again.

The midfielder spent last season at Hertha Berlin where he scored five goals in 22 appearances and was one of the bright spots for the Bundesliga side.

The 23-year-old was also sent on loan in the previous campaign where he helped Cardiff City gain promotion to the Premier League.

The Serb also made it to the World Cup squad in the summer, however, he did not get any minutes in Russia.

The report

claims that Liverpool were impressed with Grujic’s performances at Berlin and want to send him to a strong “European club”. There is a lot of competition at the club for the midfield spots, and the report adds that Jurgen Klopp believes Grujic has a future at Anfield.

The report adds that Liverpool could be in the market for a midfielder in a couple of years, and Grujic could be more valuable to the team then.

Another season away is the right deal for all parties involved

Grujic would not get too many starts next season if he stays at Liverpool. The Reds have seen Fabinho grow in presence since his move from Monaco while James Milner also did a good job last season.

Jordan Henderson lifts the Champions League trophy

Jordan Henderson seems to be playing his best football and helped us win the Champions League final.

The competition for places would be even greater next season with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain back in the team from his long-term injury.

Naby Keita was also doing well before he picked up an injury while Georginio Wijnaldum was one of our top performers last season.

Sending Grujic to a club that plays in a European competition would be a huge bonus too. The Serbian had some injury problems last season, however, he needs to stay fit to continue his development.

The 23-year-old has a lot of time on his hands to improve and hopefully, the next campaign will see the Serbian take his game to another level.
