Long-term Liverpool target will be sold for less than €60million as club president confirms negotiations

Liverpool FC transfer news: Jean-Michel Aulas confirms talks with clubs over Nabil Fekir transfer

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas recently spoke about the future of Liverpool target Nabil Fekir (h/t Calciomercato).

The French midfielder almost signed for us a year back, but the Reds backed out of a deal due to a problem during the medical (h/t Liverpool Echo).

Nabil Fekir of Lyon

Fekir remained with Lyon and won the World Cup with France, and Aulas provided an update on the contract situation of the 25-year-old while speaking to RMC (h/t Calciomercato

):

“We are proud to have a World champion in our team. He has a release clause and his contract expires in one year”.

The Frenchman added that he doesn’t expect a huge fee for the 25-year-old, and confirmed there are talks with several parties:

“One year ago his price-tag was € 60 million and this season the price can’t be the same. We are talking with other clubs but I won’t reveal the details. We are speaking with people who are not in a hurry to close the deal because they want to do things properly.”

Aulas added that the club doesn’t need the money but would sell if they got the right price for Fekir.

Milan planning to use a former Liverpool player to land Fekir

The report adds that AC Milan want to sign the Frenchman and are willing to send Suso the other way.

Suso

The Spanish midfielder couldn’t make it at Liverpool but has been great for the Italian giants over the past two seasons.

Milan missed out on the Champions League places last season while Liverpool should be a better prospect for Fekir as we won the title a few weeks ago.

The Reds can do with another attacker in the team, and if Fekir is available on the cheap, we should take a risk with his signing.
