The Liverpool Echo reports that the Champions League winners are keen on handing veteran James Milner a new deal.
The 33-year-old Englishman had a great season as he made 31 starts in all competitions for the Reds.
Milner played 45 games throughout the campaign and featured in all but one of our Champions League games.
The Englishman was signed on a free transfer four years ago and has been one of the smartest signings Liverpool have made in the Premier League era.
Milner finally got his hands on the Champions League crown a month ago, and also created the record for most assists in the competition.
The Englishman is a free agent at the end of next season, and Liverpool have to tie him down for the future.
Milner might not be the youngest player in the team, but his performances haven’t dipped one bit. The midfielder has gone from strength to strength and his versatility is a bonus for the Reds too.
The 33-year-old is comfortable playing as a full-back and can even do a job on the wings if needed. Milner, in fact, spent one season as our first-choice left-back before Andy Robertson was signed from Hull City.
The English midfielder’s experience is also a plus for Jurgen Klopp’s side, and hopefully, we keep hold of Millie until he hangs up his boots.
