The Daily Mail reports that Wigan starlet Joe Gelhardt is being tracked by Liverpool after making it to the senior side.
The report claims that several Premier League clubs, including Everton, are also tracking the 17-year-old English striker.
Gelhardt can play on either wing and featured in Wigan’s draw with Barnsley last weekend.
The youngster has also been called up by the England U18 side to face Australia (h/t Daily Mail) and has a contract with the Latics until 2021.
The report adds that the Reds see Gelhardt as a replacement for Bobby Duncan.

Duncan joined Fiorentina on a permanent deal, and it will be interesting to see who we do sign as his replacement.
The youngster had formed a great relationship with Paul Glatzel and we need someone who can do the job this season.
Liverpool have been busy signing young players this summer, and it will be interesting to see if we make a move for the 17-year-old Gelhardt.
The Reds have seen several youngsters do well since coming through the academy under Jurgen Klopp, and Gelhardt could follow this route too.
