Liverpool fans concerned after Fabinho’s injury against Napoli

Liverpool endured a frustrating night at Anfield after being held by Napoli.

The point means we have to avoid defeat in the final Champions League group game away at RB Salzburg to qualify for the next round.

Napoli took a contentious lead with Dries Mertens expertly finishing, however, Virgil van Dijk was fouled in the build-up to the goal.

VAR did not overturn the decision but we came roaring back in the second half. Dejan Lovren equalised from a corner and we had enough chances to win the game.

However, a point is all we garnered from the game but there is one major injury concern.

Fabinho had to be subbed early in the game after a collision and Jurgen Klopp wasn’t confident of when the Brazilian would be back (h/t LiverpoolFC.com):

“He is a really hard one and couldn’t continue. I don’t want to say what I expect, because I hope in the moment it’s not that serious.

“But we’ll know more maybe tomorrow, maybe the day after tomorrow. We’ll see.”

Midfielder to miss weekend clash

Klopp added that Fabinho was having pain in an area that you “don’t want to have” and was hopeful it wasn’t going to be serious.

The Brazilian was set to miss the weekend clash against Brighton after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season in the previous Premier League game.

We need the Brazilian back as soon as possible due to our packed schedule in the coming weeks.

Hopefully, the Brazilian is back sooner rather than later, and several fans were concerned after he left the pitch last night.
