Liverpool open to selling winger Wilson for £30million

According to Football Insider (h/t Express), Liverpool are willing to sell winger Harry Wilson in the summer following the emergence of Curtis Jones this season.

The Welsh international has made a name for himself in England. He initially impressed on loan at Derby County and continues to do so this season at Bournemouth. Having won the Liverpool Academy player of the season in 2018

, Wilson has progressed well up the ranks. Liverpool will expect a fee of about £30million for the player.

Having come up through the youth ranks, the winger has made just one senior appearance for Liverpool. He came on as a substitute for Philippe Coutinho in the FA Cup tie against Plymouth Argyle

in 2017. Wilson is a dead-ball specialist who excels at taking freekicks. The Reds management holds the winger in high regard but the player could find it hard to break into the Reds first team.

It is hard to see Wilson replace any of the Reds’ famed front three. The signing of Takumi Minamino and the emergence of Curtis Jones will further add obstacles to the Welshman’s progress at Anfield.

Wilson is a regular in the Welsh national side and has made 17 appearances for his country. He holds the distinction of being both Wales’ and Liverpool’s youngest debutant. The 22-year-old has also scored three times for his country.
