Returning after an annoying visit to the Wanda Metropolitano, Liverpool striker Sadio Mane had an eventful first half against West Ham United.
The Senegalese superstar was heavily involved as the Reds dominated possession and chances against David Moyes’s team. With the scores level at 1-1, Liverpool attempted to attack from the left flank.
Andrew Robertson’s backheel was collected by Mane, who proceeded to leave Robert Snodgrass on the ground with some nimble footwork. Unfortunately, Liverpool could not capitalize on this piece of skill as the ball was put out for a corner.
Liverpool took the lead early on courtesy of a Gini Wijnaldum header. It was also Trent Alexander-Arnold’s 10th assist of the season, making him just the first defender to make 10 or more assists in the EPL for more than one season.
The Reds’ lead lasted just three minutes as Issa Diop equalized from a corner to bring the Hammers level. Pablo Fornals came off the bench to give David Moyes’ side a shock lead before Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane turned the game around.
Liverpool now needs just 12 points to guarantee the title.
A number of Liverpool fans were left in awe of Mane’s footwork and took to Twitter to react to the winger’s skill. We take a look at some of them below.
