Jurgen Klopp dismisses claims of nerves as Liverpool look to end season on a high

Jurgen Klopp dismisses claims of Liverpool being nervous

According to the Liverpool Echo, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has dismissed suggestions that his side are suffering from nerves as they near the business end of the season.

The Reds are now just six points away from securing their first league title in thirty years. Liverpool returned to winning ways at the weekend in a come-from-behind victory over a struggling Bournemouth.

The win is just the club’s second in five games after the winter break. The Reds’ unbeaten streak ended at 44 while they were also dumped out of the FA Cup by Chelsea.

Jurgen Klopp is not worried about his players’ nerves

Klopp, however, believes that a strong finish in the league and the Champions League will hold his players in good stead.

“It’s very important that you keep your nerve, but I was never worried about that”

He insists that it isn’t always enough to just keep your nerve, but rather fight against whatever adversity you are facing at the moment. He admitted that his side has not had to face much trouble over the past one and a half years. However, since they have to do so now, they have no other choice but to embrace it and fight it.

He was adamant that the club will not take these problems lightly and will take stock of the situation and learn from it. He went on to say that the club has worked hard to be where they are now and was more than happy with the response against Bournemouth.

Jurgen Klopp is set to end Liverpool’s long wait for the title

Klopp lavished praise on veteran midfielder James Milner who was in the thick of things against Bournemouth. The 34-year-old made a sensational goal-line clearance to ensure the Reds did not relinquish their lead.
