Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has insisted that he is ‘completely happy’ with his attacking options at the moment, amidst links with Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho and Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe. (h/t Evening Standard)
In Mo Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino, Liverpool boast one of the deadliest attacking trios in the game currently. However, there isn’t much quality when it comes to backup for the first-choice trident.
This, coupled with our unrivalled success over the past couple of years, has seen a number of star players get linked with a move to Anfield. Two such names are Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho and PSG forward Kylian Mbappe. (h/t Evening Standard)
Sancho, since joining Dortmund, he has grown into one of the most coveted young attackers in Europe. Mbappe, on the other hand, has been a huge success story ever since he broke into the first-team at Monaco. Having either of them in our squad would, no doubt, turn us into a much stronger force.
Klopp, though, refused to get drawn into commenting on the speculations, but insisted that he loved those players and praised their skill levels and attitude. (h/t Evening Standard)
“Look, I cannot answer those kinds of questions without creating headlines the next day. I love them all and there’s a few more players out there. They are all exceptional players.”
The German also claimed that he is very happy with the current options at his disposal, all of whom are in their peak years and still have plenty of top-level football left in them. (h/t Evening Standard)
“I am completely happy with the boys that I have, but I never thought about the others. Sadio Mane is young enough and Mo Salah is young enough to be in that group for the next few years.”
Klopp did hint at the possibility of making more star quality additions to our side in the future. However, any move for Mbappe or Sancho in the upcoming window looks like a distant possibility.
