Christian Falk provides an update on Leroy Sane to Liverpool

According to Bild journalist Christian Falk (h/t Express), Leroy Sane will not be moving to Liverpool in the upcoming window.

The 24-year-old is one of the most effective attackers in the league. He has endured an injury-hit season and has featured just once for the defending Premier League champions.

Liverpool are well acquainted with Sane’s abilities. The German international has proven to be a constant thorn in our side. He has scored four goals in six games against us so far.

Falk has confirmed that the Reds were keen on bringing the player to Anfield. However, given the intense rivalry between Liverpool and Manchester City, the player was not ready to switch colours. The German is keen to return to his homeland with Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.

A versatile winger who can play on either flank, Sane would have added another dimension to our attack. A certified gamechanger, he is also a deft hand at taking set-pieces.

It is unfortunate that the player will not be making the move to Anfield. However, him moving to Bayern will suit us just fine. Not having to face the player on a regular basis should make facing City a less daunting prospect than it already is.

Liverpool have found Leroy Sane a tough nut to crack

Liverpool have been long time admirers of Sane. The club were keen on signing the player back when he was at Schalke. Unfortunately, he went on to join our biggest rivals for English supremacy. Sane has made 134 appearances for the Citizens and has scored 39 goals and 45 assists.

At 24, he is yet to hit his peak. A scary proposition indeed.

The loss of Sane will be a key miss for Manchester City. The German is a match-winner who has been worth every penny they paid to Schalke. It now appears he is ready to move on. Unfortunately, not to Anfield.
