Paul Robinson has tipped Georginio Wijnaldum to join Barcelona
Georginio Wijnaldum is one of the most important players in the engine room for Liverpool. The part he played in the league campaign last season and during the Champions League run the year before that simply cannot be underplayed.
Despite being a revered figure in Merseyside, recent reports have liked the former Newcastle United man with a move away from Anfield to join Barcelona, as has been reported by the Express.
It has been clarified that new Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman is an admirer of the Dutchman’s talents, with the gaffer keen on bringing the midfielder to the Nou Camp ahead of the upcoming campaign. (h/t Express)

The same report by the Express also went on to relay some of the comments made by former Premier League goalkeeper Paul Robinson. Speaking to Football Insider (h/t Express), he has claimed that a transfer could well be on the horizon for the Dutchman.
“It would be difficult to lose a player of his quality and experience but when a team like Barca come knocking, they do not come knocking too often.”
Not only has the former England keeper touted the Dutchman to join Barcelona, but he has also tipped the £15m price to be a fair one in terms of the player’s current situation. (h/t Express)
“Wijnaldum is 29 so it is a great opportunity for him to go and play with a manager that he knows. £15million is probably a decent offer for a player that has just one year left on his contract.”

With Wijnaldum having just one year on his contract with Liverpool, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the Reds cash in.
With that said though, the influence he has had on the team over the last few years cannot be overlooked. Replacing the Dutchman is likely going to be essential, but if we’re able to get £15m for the 29-year-old’s signature, it’s probably a deal that Liverpool should take with their eyes closed.
