According to transfer news from Mirror, Liverpool have opened talks with Leicester City over a move for Youri Tielemans. The Belgium international is being seen as a replacement for Georginio Wijnaldum, who is leaving the club.
The Belgian midfield maestro was the star in the FA Cup final for the Foxes against the Blues. He has also gone on to win the Leicester player of the year, awarded by his teammates and fans to cap off a great season for the side.
The 24-year-old has spent just two years of his contract at the King Power Stadium so far. Unfortunately for him, his side missed out on the UEFA Champions League for next season. That could also play a part in deciding his future at the King Power Stadium.
While Liverpool have a decent amount of players in the central areas, the departure of Wijnaldum means that another quality option might be required. The Reds have opened talks regarding a move for Tielemans. The fee is expected to be an issue given how important he is for Leicester. The Foxes are not under any pressure to sell.
