Liverpool running out of time to sell these six out-of-favour stars

Transfer News: Liverpool running out of time to sell six players

According to transfer news from Mirror, Liverpool are said to be running out of time to sell six of their players. Divock Origi, Xherdan Shaqiri, Loris Karius, Nat Phillips, Ben Davies and Sheyi Ojo are the names they are looking to offload but with the season set to start in ten days, Jurgen Klopp has his task cut out.

Liverpool went ahead and completed their one big signing of the summer relatively early in the transfer window. Ibrahima Konate was signed from RB Leipzig as the Reds looked to avoid a scenario similar to last season. After that, it has been quiet from their end in terms of new arrivals.

However, outgoings have been happening with the likes of Harry Wilson, Marko Grujic and Taiwo Awoniyi departing the club. It would seem they are not the only ones who faced the exit as several more players are expected to leave. Two relatively influential names, Shaqiri and Divock Origi have garnered some interest and are likely to make way.

Loris Karius may have returned to the side but he is nowhere close to breaching Alisson’s post. Nat Phillips who made some progress last season now finds himself in limbo with the return of the first-choice defenders. Ben Davies is yet to kick a ball for his new side while Sheyi Ojo is a name that has been around for too long.

The Reds are in a race against time to clear these six names from their books with the Premier League set to kick off in 10 days. Selling them off will also aid Liverpool in pursuing further signings with funds. Nonetheless, the faster this group is ushered out, the better.
