Paul Grost via (h/t Liverpool Echo) has provided the latest on Ben Davies and Liverpool are willing to listen to offers for the defender. However, only a loan option is mentioned by the Journalist. As of now, Sheffield United are leading the race for the 25-year-old. Davies left the Liverpool camp last month.
The Journalist adds that Celtic offered to permanently sign Davies in January. Bournemouth were the other club who were interested. However, the player signed for Liverpool.
Liverpool signed Ben Davies in 2021. The player was brought in January as the club’s first team centre-backs were injured. He joined Liverpool after a three-year spell at Preston North end.
The 25-year-old signed a long-term deal with the reds. Despite the injuries, Davies never really got his chance. The defender made the match day squad several times. However, he is yet to play or make an appearance for the Reds in any competition.
Davies did not make any appearance even during one of the worst injury crises at the club. Hence, it could be an even more difficult case when most of the first-team defenders are back fit.
Both Virgil Van Dijk and Joe Gomez are training with the first-team. The duo has even participated in the pre-season friendlies. Matip is back with the squad too.
The club even announced the signing of Ibrahim Konate this summer. Ben Davies is still 25 and a loan or a permanent move where he would get first-team football could definitely help him.
