Transfer News: 22-year-old Liverpool target open to leaving PL club next summer

Declan Rice is keen to leave West Ham next summer amid interest from Liverpool and Manchester United

According to Eurosport (h/t Daily Star), Liverpool target Declan Rice is keen on leaving West Ham next season after being disappointed with the club’s summer transfer business. The midfielder was heavily linked with a move to Chelsea this summer but Blues could not complete the deal as the Hammers stuck to their £100m evaluation of their player.

After failing to get hold of Rice this summer, Chelsea went on to sign Saul Niguez on the deadline day. With Chelsea signing the Spaniard this summer, Premier League clubs like Manchester United and Liverpool have boosted

their interest in signing Rice for their respective clubs.
Declan Rice had been linked with a move to a major Premier League club this summer

Failing to make his desired switch to another Premier League club this summer, Rice sees this as his last season at the London Stadium

. Liverpool and United have now emerged as favourites to sign the midfielder from West Ham next summer.

Manchester United would want to bolster their midfield position and potentially replace someone with Declan Rice as a long term replacement. While Liverpool, who failed to sign a major player this summer, would also want some solidity in the centre of the park for themselves.

The Reds lost Georgino Wijnaldum this summer to PSG and Xhedran Sahqiri to Lyon. Apart from the departures, Liverpool have also suffered blows in form of injuries to their key first-team players. So with the current situation at the club, they should be hoping to add an established midfielder to their team in the coming transfer window.

Decline Rice is keen to make a switch next summer with Liverpool and United both interested in the midfielder.

The 22-year-old England international had a stellar performance in Euros 2020 and was recently featured for the Three Lions in World Cup qualifiers against Hungary. Rice is expected to feature in the next qualifier against Poland on the 8th of September.

A lot can happen over the period of time until next summer and only time will tell whether Rice chooses to stay with the club or make his desired move to a major Premier League club next summer.
