“He’s a David Beckham”- 22-year-old Liverpool star praised by Man United legend after Leeds outing

Manchester United legend Gary Neville praises Trent Alexander-Arnold after Leeds performance

According to Daily Mail, United legend Gary Neville has likened Trent Alexander-Arnold to David Beckham and Kevin De Bruyne. Neville also stated that the player is better in his natural right-back position than in midfield. Alexander-Arnold was started in midfield by Gareth Southgate for England against Andorra.

The Three Lions won the game comfortably by 4-0 but Arnold had a mixed time in midfield after which he was placed back into his natural position at right-back. When asked about this decision, the England boss cited

it was an experimental change, not a permanent one.
Alexander Arnold started the game in midfield against Andorra in a 4-0 for England.

Arnold has sprung back to life this season for the Reds since the start of the season. After what was a disappointing last campaign, the player, in his first four League games, has 2 assists to his name already. The performance at Elland Road even garnered praise from Manchester United legend, Gary Neville and former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher. Speaking on Monday Night Football (h/t Daily Mail) Neville said:

“He’s the best passer of a ball at the right-back that I’ve ever seen. He’s a David Beckham and Kevin De Bruyne at right-back. I loved him against Leeds. He was breathtaking. The midfield thing is a no-go for me. I think that was just temporary.”

Adding to the praises for Alexander-Arnold and agreeing with Gary Neville’s assessment on him being played in midfield, Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher added

:

” When I first heared it I though it was completey nonsense to be honest. Trent is in that position and he’s creating so much, there’s no need to change it all. Why would you, it’s madness to me.”

Trent Alexander-Arnold has started the season well registering 2 assists.
