Former LFC ace could net club millions despite leaving the club in 2019

Dominic Solanke left Liverpool in 2019 but could yet help the club earn millions

According to Liverpool Echo, Liverpool are entitled to earn a percentage of the selling price if Bournemouth decides to sell striker Dominic Solanke

The Reds sold the 24-year-old to AFC Bournemouth for £19m in the summer of 2019. Not only did Liverpool net themselves an excellent transfer fee but also included several add ons to the agreement with Bournemouth.

Most of them have been paid by the Championship team, but still, Liverpool can make profits from the deal should the Cherries decide to cash in on the player.

Dominic Solanke has 27 appearances for Liverpool.

Solanke initially struggled to fit in at Bournemouth. He has however improved since and is a key player for the Championship side. His 11 goals and one assist in 15 games so far have aided Bournemouth’s push to gain promotion to the Premier League.

It represents an excellent return from a player who looked to a lost cause. It will not just be at Bournemouth where his progress will be watched on with fascination.

Liverpool’s sporting director Michael Edwards was clever enough to include the add ons for the transfer deal. . The Reds have so far made £24m from the deal including add ons.

Dominic Solanke’s transfer is proving to be profitable for Liverpool.

But there’s one add on that’s still left to be activated, and that is the sell-on clause. At the time of the transfer, Bournemouth management agreed to give a 20% profit to Liverpool both for a sell-on clause and a buyback clause.

The clause will be activated if Bournemouth sells the player for more than £24m. Given his current form, that may just come to fruition. The Cherries are seeking £35m for their star striker next summer.

The upgraded form of the 24 years old forward has created an excellent opportunity for Liverpool to earn profits as they would receive an extra £2.2m for that transfer. Not bad for a player who scored just once in 27 appearances at Anfield.
