Boost for LFC as promising young midfielder returns to training

Injury Update: Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones returns to first-team training

According to the Liverpool Echo, Curtis Jones was seen taking part in the recent Liverpool training session after having missed nine matches due to injury.

After having an impressive debut season, the youngster was on track to cement his place in the Liverpool midfield. The British player bagged four goals and five assists in 34 games in the 2020/21 season across all competition. Nevertheless, even after a great start, the 20-year-old suffered a setback.

Curtis Jones has given some convincing performances in last season.

Curtis gave an awe-inspiring performance in the Champions League group stage against Porto earlier this season. He provided two assists that laid the foundation for the most successful UEFA Champions League group phase in the Reds history. Unfortunately, the Liverpool academy graduate endured an eye injury that sidelined him for nine matches.

In the most recent training session at Kirkby, the 20-year-old youngster was photographed taking part in training along with his other Liverpool teammates. Jurgen Klopp, however, hasn’t provided any update when we can see the starlet feature for the Reds. However, his return to full fitness will give the Reds boss more options going into the festive set of games.

Curtis Jones can help the Liverpool manager to tackle the hectic schedule.

The current Liverpool midfield is full of experience. However, the regular players aren’t getting any younger, meaning Jones will need to step up and make himself counted.

Jones has the ability to perform in the English top flight. He is of the right age to step up his development and it is about time that he does so.

This season, Curtis has performed especially well in some big matches and showed the signs of becoming a top player someday. This is the best moment for him to get groomed by one of the top managers in the world and make a great Liverpool career.
