Transfer News: Young striker on Liverpool’s radar now on the wishlist of PL rivals

Transfer News: Liverpool target Endrick is now on Chelsea’s wish list

According to the Athletic (h/t Liverpool Echo), 16-year-old Brazilian prodigy and sensation Endrick, who has been a Liverpool target, is now on Chelsea’s wish list as the London club continues to target young players.

Endrick currently plays for the Brazilian club Palmeiras’ U-20 side as a striker. He is a widely viewed player for top clubs around Europe. Along with Liverpool and Chelsea, the striker has been linked with Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona.

He scored six goals in seven appearances

for the Palmeiras U-20s in the Copa Sao Paulo De Futebol Junior Tournament 2022. As well as playing down the middle, the youngster is capable of playing in every position across the front line.

The Liverpool youth team began their campaign with a 3-0 defeat to Manchester City over the weekend. One of the star players on that team Kaide Gordon is still out injured, although he is touted to return to training soon.

What should Liverpool do?

The Reds have been generally very good in scouting players and then signing them, be it for the first-team or the youth side to solidify the future. Endrick has attracted interest from some of the top clubs and is a fantastic young talent.

It remains to be seen whether the club is ready to contest with Chelsea to sign the 16-year-old, provided it comes down to a shootout between these two and none of the Spanish clubs get involved.

In the last five years, Liverpool have got a right-back and a midfielder graduating from the Academy and youth teams to play for the first team (Trent Alexander-Arnold and Curtis Jones respectively).

They would love to add a striker in that, and signing someone like Endrick for the youth team would heed that cause. We have also seen Takumi Minamino and Divock Origi leave the Reds this summer so we can use someone for depth on the bench.

However, a move to England could mean being loaned out to another club as post-Brexit regulations don’t allow the club to register any signing under the age of 18.
