“The truth”- Former Liverpool starlet blasts former agent for his Anfield exit

Bobby Duncan blasts his former agent for forcing his way out of Liverpool

Speaking as a guest on TalkSPORT (h/t Express), football agent Rubie gave his side of the story and in a strange turn of events, claims that he actually advised Bobby Duncan to stay at Liverpool.

“Can I tell you something in that particular case? I actually advised him to stay at Liverpool

I thought him staying was the best outcome. It wasn’t meant to be and in the end it got a bit ugly with Liverpool which is unfortunate.”

Bobby Duncan has not had the best career graph since leaving Liverpool

Bobby Duncan via his Twitter (h/t Express) has hit back at the claims made by his former representative and said that the agent forced the player to make the exit from the club.

“You and I both know the truth

You took it upon yourself to jeopardise my career and to turn a local lad away from his boyhood club.”

If remembered correctly, a contract dispute between the club and his agent fuelled the issue at first. After which, the agent took it upon himself to come out publicly and blame Liverpool for “mentally bullying” the player.

The player and his agent were also of the opinion that Duncan deserves to play in the first-team rather than with the junior levels.

The statement was enough to completely damage the relationship between Duncan and Liverpool and the academy boy made the switch to Fiorentina for a fee of £1.8m, despite Jurgen Klopp insisting he had a future at the club.

Bobby Duncan was tipped to be an exciting talent coming out of the Liverpool academy and could have made a name for himself at Anfield.

After leaving Liverpool, he had a failed spell at Fiorentina and Derby County and is now playing for the Spanish third-tier side Real Balompedica Linense.

More Liverpool News:

Clearly, his career has not gone according to how he or his agent would have predicted considering how Liverpool under Jurgen Klopp have become a powerhouse and one of the best teams in Europe.

At 23 years of age, Bobby Duncan still has time to revive his career but it would be wise to say that Liverpool’s doors are definitely closed.
