Agent of Arthur Melo ridicules Liverpool exit rumours

Speaking in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport as quoted by Liverpool Echo, agent of Brazilian midfielder Arthur Melo has ridiculed reports that Liverpool were unhappy with their new acquisition and went on to claim that the former Barcelona man is adapting well to England.

Liverpool signed Arthur Melo on a season-long loan from Juventus with an option to buy to help them solve an injury crisis that had engulfed the club, especially in midfield and be an option for Jurgen Klopp to use.

The Brazilian however has not really done anything substantial for the Reds until now. Arthur arrived at Anfield with no pre-season behind him and is still getting up to speed with the demands of Jurgen Klopp.

Liverpool staff are excited about Arthur Melo’s progress in training.

There has been constant speculation that the talented Brazilian midfielder has already been labelled a flop by the Liverpool staff and that there is a chance that he is sent back to Turin in January.

Ever since this move first emerged in the media, Arthur to Liverpool has been received with a lot of criticism and the Brazilian has come to Anfield with a lot of eyes on him almost certain that he will be a failure.

Speaking about his client’s time at Anfield, the agent of Arthur went on to claim that the former Barcelona man is really working hard to be ready for Jurgen Klopp when football resumes.

“The first few weeks are normal for adaptation and the recovery of (a player’s) physical condition. Everyone is very happy with him. He has given up his holidays to stay in Liverpool to work. Soon, he will be at 100 per cent.”

When club football resumes this weekend, it is expected that Arthur will be available for selection and there is a chance that Jurgen Klopp hands him a Premier League debut when they take on Brighton.

Considering Thiago Alcantara’s less than favourable injury record, it is always good to have a player like Arthur in the mix. The Brazilian is the closest profile-wise that we have to the Spanish maestro in the squad and he could prove useful this season.
