“Fight for everything” – Liverpool star makes vow for the second half of the season

Andy Robertson vows Liverpool will turn it around after Christmas

Speaking in an interview with the official Liverpool matchday programme as quoted by Liverpool Echo, Andy Robertson has vowed that Liverpool will turn it around after Christmas and make sure they try and climb back up the table point by point.

The Scottish left-back admitted that it has not been the best of starts to the season for the Reds. Robertson however feels Liverpool still have a chance in the Premier League and can come back up.

Liverpool have struggled in the Premier League this season. Jurgen Klopp’s men sit sixth in the table with six wins, four draws and four defeats from 14 games so far. It is a stark contrast to the kind of form they have shown in recent years.

Injuries have cruelly affected Liverpool with Klopp’s men suffering a series of injuries at the same time. This means the Reds have not really had the chance to get into a rhythm at all this season.

Even the person who makes this vow, Andy Robertson missed a major chunk of the season after being injured and we know how crucial the Scot is to the style of play that the Reds deploy.

This, coupled with the poor form of some key players, especially at the beginning of the season like Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk meant that Klopp suffered one of his worst-ever starts during his time at Anfield.

Speaking in the interview, Robertson is more optimistic than ever of turning the situation around.

“After Christmas, we have to do the only thing we know and fight for everything as if our lives depend on it and see if we can start climbing that Premier League table. We have to go step-by-step and game by game just now and we can’t look too much at the league table.”

“We know we’re not where we want to be and that we’ve been disappointing this season but hopefully we can get a run of results together and start climbing the league and chasing the teams ahead of us”

As optimistic as Robertson is, and rightly so, in reality however it looks like the Premier League will be beyond Liverpool this season. Unless a number of results go their way, it does not look like they can mount a comeback.
