Liverpool not keen on swapping Kostas Tsimikas for France international

Liverpool are not interested in the swap deal between Kostas Tsimikas and Adrien Rabiot

It was claimed by Italian outlet Calciomercato (h/t Liverpool Echo) that Liverpool, in a bid to bolster their midfield options, are open to a swap deal involving Kostas Tsimikas and Adrien Rabiot.

Rabiot was linked with our rivals Manchester United over the summer and while the deal was close to completion, it did not materialise and the player ended up staying at Juventus.

He has been in terrific form for the club this season having already scored 5 goals while he was also on the scoresheet for France against Australia in the opening game of the FIFA World Cup.

However, contrary to speculations, according to Sports Time journalist Giannis Chorianopoulos via SportWitness (h/t Liverpool Echo), the rumours are wide off the mark and Liverpool are not interested in the swap deal that has been making the rounds.

It is true that currently, we are short of quality options but a stop-gap solution will not do us any benefit as has been evident by the transfer of Arthur Melo.

While it is tough to predict the direction in which the club would be headed in terms of player recruitment but many believe that the utmost attention would be provided to adding a midfielder to the team.

On the other hand, Tsimikas has rarely put a step wrong since his move to Liverpool and is a very able understudy of Andy Robertson. He has even come across as an option who is very well in contention to make the left-back spot his own.

With the time spent at the club, he has become better at grasping the needs of the manager and team. There is real talent complimenting an attitude of not creating a fuzz about starting games and putting the team in front.

A transfer window around the corner always generated rumours and non-reliable links with players from different teams. It is always better to take the news with a pinch of salt and wait until the rumour starts gaining traction from various reputed sources to arrive at a conclusion.
