Juventus place eight-figure price tag on France midfielder on Liverpool’s radar

Juventus set January asking price for France midfielder Adrien Rabiot amidst Liverpool links

Serie A giants Juventus have set their asking price for France star Adrien Rabiot amidst links to Liverpool in the upcoming transfer window, according to Calciomercato

(h/t Liverpool.Echo).

The Old Lady would ‘highly consider’ a fee between €10-15 million for the 27-year-old in January. His current contract will expire at the end of the 2022/23 campaign, with an extension not in sight.

Thus, the Italian outfit will have to lose the midfielder on a free transfer or sell him next month. It seems the Bianconeri have decided to part ways with the former Paris Saint-Germain player to cut their losses.

Rabiot joined Juventus in the summer of 2019 as a free agent from the Ligue 1 champions. Over the years, he has been a regular in the Serie A giants’ starting lineup and has done relatively well.

In the current campaign, while the Bianconeri have been struggling under Massimiliano Allegri, the 27-year-old has stood out because of his performances. In 16 appearances this season in all competitions, he has scored five goals and provided two assists.

Rabiot has also been pivotal for France at the 2022 World Cup. The 27-year-old has played a part in every game for Didier Deschamps’ team. Les Bleus have made it to the quarter-finals, where they will face England.

Liverpool have suffered a lot of injury setbacks in the middle of the park in the current campaign. Jurgen Klopp has had to deal with Thiago Alcantara, Jordan Henderson, Alex-Oxlade Chamberlain, Naby Keita and other stars being on the sidelines at some point.

As a result, the Reds have struggled to keep pace in the Premier League this season. We are currently eighth in the table, 15 points behind table-toppers Arsenal.

Thus, the Anfield side evidently need to bolster their ranks in the upcoming transfer window to put up a better challenge for the rest of the season. However, it remains to be seen how willing our owners will be to splash the cash in January.
