Liverpool confident of signing Jude Bellingham as per Ben Jacobs

As per renowned Football Journo Ben Jacobs on Twitter [h/t Liverpool Echo], Liverpool are ‘confident’ of landing their primary transfer target Jude Bellingham at Anfield next summer. The 19-year-old Borussia Dortmund midfielder is a regular fixture on the Reds’ transfer list; not only in recent times but ever since his transfer to the Bundesliga giants back in 2020.

This season, the Reds’ problems in midfield have come to the forefront with seasoned players like Jordan Henderson and Fabinho, not at their best. Both these players could certainly do with replacements and competitions for their place in the starting XI, and who is better than Jude on current form?

At only 19, his best years are certainly way ahead of him. The player is delivering world-class performances for Die Schwarzbelgen in the Bundesliga and even the UEFA Champions League week in and week out.

As per his tweet, both Real Madrid and Manchester City are still an active part of the race, but Los Blancos have a lower than £131m fee in mind which is what Dortmund value him at. As far as Pep’s City are concerned, they would take a more active approach to sign the player only after the conclusion of the current window.

The Reds’ interest in Bellingham

After losing Aurelien Tchouameni to Real last summer, the Reds cannot possibly see their long-term target in Bellingham move to Spain and hence, they should move quickly if they really want to get the former Birmingham City midfielder on board.

Liverpool has been known for developing talents and helping them fully reach their potential, and Bellingham could be the next player to benefit from the club’s development system. Real Madrid, on the other hand, has a history of signing top young talents from around the world and is always looking to strengthen their squad.
