Liverpool linked with a move for Barcelona and Arsenal target Evan Ndicka

Liverpool’s search for a reliable defender continues as they are reportedly keeping a close eye on Evan Ndicka, the Eintracht Frankfurt player who has attracted attention from clubs across Europe, including Arsenal and Barcelona.

The absence of Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, Ibrahima Konate and Joel Matip due to injuries at different points this season has left the team with a makeshift defence, and the addition of a quality centre-back is a priority for the Reds.

Ndicka, a 23-year-old Frenchman, has been impressive for Eintracht Frankfurt this season. His contract with Frankfurt is set to expire in the summer, making him an attractive proposition for clubs looking to bolster their defensive options.

While Arsenal and Barcelona are said to be ahead in the race to sign Ndicka, Liverpool’s interest in the player shows that they are still in the hunt for a quality defender. The competition for Ndicka’s signature is fierce, but it would be a significant coup if Liverpool can convince him to join the club.

Liverpool’s recent form has been concerning, with the team out of the top four and suffering a humiliating defeat to Real Madrid in the Champions League. The lack of defensive stability has been a major contributing factor to the team’s struggles, and adding a player like Ndicka to the squad could be the key to turning things around.

Of course, signing Ndicka is not without risks. He is a young player with limited experience at the highest level, and there is no guarantee that he will adapt to the Premier League. However, Liverpool have a history of identifying and developing young talent, and if they can secure Ndicka’s services, he could become a valuable asset for the club.

Speaking about the prospect of Liverpool signing the player, here is what Ben Jacobs had to say to Give Me Sport

“At the opposite extreme, you’ve got a player, for example, like Evan Ndicka, who’s a free transfer. And that’s exactly the kind of player that Liverpool love because they know there’s value. They appreciate the talent there, so that’s one to watch as well.”

Liverpool fans will be hoping that the club can win the race for Ndicka’s signature, but even if they miss out on the Frenchman, there are other options available. Josko Gvardiol and Levi Colwill have been linked with the club, and there are likely to be other defenders on the radar as well.
