“Against us he is hyper-motivated”- Eder Militao names two Liverpool stars Real Madrid must be wary of in 2nd leg

Eder Militao names Liverpool duo Real Madrid are wary of heading into the UCL RO16 second leg

Liverpool’s hopes of advancing in the Champions League hang in the balance as they prepare to take on Real Madrid in the second leg of their last-16 clash. With a 5-2 deficit to overcome, Jurgen Klopp’s side will need to produce a monumental effort.

However, Real Madrid defender Eder Militao via The Mirror

named Liverpool duo Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah as the players his side stand worried about ahead of the match.

“But Liverpool have a super squad and now we do not want to be surprised at home. Mo Salah has come into a good moment in attack.

“He is always dangerous and against us he is hyper-motivated, and also Roberto Firmino is scoring goals again. So until the end of this match, nothing has been decided.”

The Brazilian centre-back acknowledged the quality of both players and admitted that they pose a significant threat to his team’s chances of progressing in the tournament. Bobby and Salah have been instrumental to Liverpool’s success in recent years, with the pair forming a deadly partnership that has been difficult for opposing teams to contain.

Tough Challenge for Liverpool

However, both players have struggled for form at times this season, and their performances will be crucial if Liverpool are to mount a comeback against Real Madrid. With the pressure on and the stakes high, Firmino and Salah will need to step up and deliver if they are to give their team a chance of progressing in the competition.

Liverpool will also need to improve defensively if they are to have any chance of overturning the deficit against Real Madrid. The Reds have been shaky at the back all season, and their defensive frailties were exposed in the first leg of the tie.

The likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andrew Robertson will need to work hard to keep Real Madrid’s attacking players at bay, while Alisson will need to be at his best to keep his team in the tie which one could be almost sure of.

Despite the odds being against them, Liverpool have shown in the past that they are capable of producing the unexpected. The Reds famously came back from a 3-0 deficit to defeat Barcelona in the semi-finals of the competition in 2019, and they will need to produce a similar performance if they are to progress to the next round.

Everything said, now, it is up to the players to perform with all heart and soul for the club and help the Reds march on to the next round of the UEFA Champions League.
