“This is my club”- Jurgen Klopp keen to rebuild his second great Liverpool side

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is keen to bring the joy of football back to Anfield

According to the Liverpool Echo, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is keen to rebuild the Anfield roster following a season of struggle.

The Reds have fallen by the wayside this season despite kicking off their campaign with Community Shield glory. Klopp’s wards are currently in the eighth spot and have a real fight on their hands to make the top four.

Liverpool have much work to do when the summer transfer window opens. Another rebuild is on the cards and Klopp believes he has the mantra to get the ball rolling on his next great Reds’ side.

“We can become a team again that nobody wants to play against, and that is the starting basis.”

Since taking over from Brendan Rodgers midway through the 2015-16 season, Klopp had his hands full in waking up a sleeping giant that had been in deep slumber for a while. It took a few years but success eventually arrived as the Reds won every trophy they could under the son.

A major factor behind the club’s sustained success was their never-give-up attitude and teamwork that exceeded the sum of their parts. Liverpool were a notoriously difficult side to go up against and Klopp believes that is what his side needs to rediscover.

The German is also keen to stay for the long haul and see the second rebuild through. When asked about a potential exit, he was quick to shoot it down and reiterated his commitment to the team.

“This is my club.”

One cannot deny that the Reds need a massive overhaul of their roster come summer. Klopp is the right man to see the rebuild through and has already proven once that he is capable of doing a fine job. With the German now on board, all eyes will be on what the club opts to do in the summer.

Klopp has had to work miracles working with one hand tied behind the back at Anfield. The German has the Midas touch and we hope it translates into performances and results on the field once again. At the very least, the Liverpool boss knows the extent of the job on his hands. It is time to turn doubters into believers again.
