Thiago and Stefan Bajcetic left out of Liverpool squad for Singapore-leg of Pre-Season

Liverpool’s pre-season preparations are entering their final stage as the Reds get ready to face Leicester City and Bayern Munich in Singapore. However, there are notable absentees from the 27-man squad travelling to Asia.

Thiago won’t be making the trip to Singapore. The Spanish playmaker is continuing his rehab on Merseyside after sustaining a hip injury earlier this year in April. While it’s unfortunate to miss the 32-year-old Spaniard international on the pitch, the club is prioritizing his recovery to ensure he returns to full fitness as soon as possible.

Another player left behind in Liverpool is Stefan Bajcetic. The 18-year-old talent is also nursing an injury that is a tear in the abductor muscle and will stay back to undergo necessary rehab work. “Thiago Alcantara and Stefan Bajcetic also (after Fabinho) missing from 27-man squad. They are staying on Merseyside to continue rehab after injury.”

In addition to Thiago and Bajcetic, Fabinho is not part of the travelling squad. The Brazilian midfielder is currently anticipating a move to Al Ittihad.

Capped Squad for the final pre-season leg

Negotiations have been ongoing, and it appears that Fabinho’s future lies in Saudi Arabia. While his departure is yet to be officially confirmed, the decision to exclude him from the squad suggests that the move is progressing.

Pre-season is a crucial time for players to regain fitness and work on tactical aspects of their game. Ensuring that injured players like Thiago and Bajcetic receive adequate care and recovery time will benefit the team in the long run.

As Liverpool take on Leicester and Bayern in Singapore, it presents an exciting opportunity for some of the younger players to shine and impress the coaching staff. Pre-season games provide a platform for players to showcase their skills and stake their claim for a spot in the starting lineup later on.
