Falk: Liverpool retain interest in 21-year-old midfielder despite Wataru Endo signing

Liverpool remain interested in signing Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberch

As per a tweet from German correspondent Christian Falk, Liverpool are keeping their files open to potentially make a move for Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberch.

It is revealed that despite Wataru Endo’s agreement, the Reds continue to keep an on the young Dutch midfielder as the rebuild through transfers starts to take shape late on in the window.

If all things go well, Endo will become the third midfield addition of the summer after Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai

. But, Jurgen Klopp could do with one more there before the deadline.

Gravenberch, who didn’t play much for Bayern since joining them from Ajax last summer, can be an excellent choice on many fronts.

The Dutchman is 21, so if signs for Liverpool, he will take up the homegrown slot in the squad. In a way, his arrival would keep an extra non-homegrown slot empty for it to be filled either in this window or next.

Apart from that, the former Ajax superstar is a highly talented midfielder who has had a curious year in Germany. It almost felt unfair that he did not play much for Bayern last season.

Gravenberch is a versatile player who can operate in a double pivot, is comfortable as a number eight and has played as a number 10 in the past too.

Technically, there aren’t many young midfielders better than him. His height and physical strength allow him to be very good in duels on and off the ball.

The Dutchman is at an age where there is room for development and improvement. If Liverpool sign on a cut-price deal, he would fill in multiple slots in midfield and become an important part of the squad for years to come.
