Liverpool youngster’s quality was on full display against Luton Town as shown by impressive stat

Jurgen Klopp will be very happy with the performance put on by Liverpool star, Harvey Elliot during the team’s last outing against Luton Town. The Reds were on the back foot for the first 56 minutes of action as the Hatters took an early lead and did well to protect it during the first half. However, the second half of the game was a completely different story.

Liverpool skipper, Virgil van Dijk quickly equalised the score to make it 1-1. Cody Gakpo and Luis Diaz both made it to the score sheet to put their team two goals clear of Luton. Finally, it was the star of the game, Harvey Elliot who scored in the 90th minute to seal a 4-1 victory for the Reds.

That’s not all the youngster did, a new stat by Whoscored.com shows that the 20-year-old created seven chances from open play during the game. No other player in the Premier League has achieved this feat during the 2023/24 campaign.

The English forward has been off to a slow start this season, but his performance against Luton shows that he is a player of the highest quality. With a little patience and some time in the oven, Elliot will be a force to be reckoned with.

He already has excellent pace and an eye for the right pass. His ability to dribble around defenders and finish chances leaves a little to be desired and should be his focus during the off-season.
