Liverpool are ready to beat Barcelona to sign Palmeiras sensation Estevao Willian during the summer

Palmeiras wonderkid Estevao Willian is a transfer target for Liverpool, Barcelona and several other top European clubs for the summer. The 16-year-old has enjoyed a steep rise in his reputation despite his very young age and lack of experience.

Standing at 1.76 metres, he is still developing physically but he has the athleticism to play at the highest level. The young Brazilian has the physical strength and aggressive attitude to hold his own in duels and against bigger opponents.

He has incredible first-touch, dribbling skills and close control to wiggle his way out of tight spaces, beating the opposition. Estevao has the stamina and directness to make long progressive runs with the ball and create quick attacks.

He likes to make quick one-twos with his teammates and create spaces while evading any opposition pressing or marking. The 16-year-old has strong technical abilities despite his young age that help him create threatening passes and score goals himself.

Estevao’s raw potential requires further development, yet he has already made a breakthrough into Palmeiras’ first team. The Brazil U20 has also scored his first senior-level goal already, showcasing his steep development and rise in reputation.

Estevao prefers using his left foot and, although capable of playing on either wing, he predominantly operates as a right-winger. According to journalist Rudy Galetti (h/t Fichajes), Liverpool wants to sign Estevao during the summer to bolster their attack.

The Reds are keeping the future in mind as the legendary forward Mohamed Salah is 31 years old. The Egypt captain has already lost some pace, resulting in a change in his style of play during this season.

Liverpool have an incredible academy and a culture of providing opportunities to youngsters despite their age. Estevao fits the profile that the Reds would desire in a player and he could play at senior level soon, depending on his ability to adapt to European football.
