Liverpool could sign Eredivisie defender with the help of Arne Slot

As reported by Liverpool.com, Eredivisie defender, Lutsharel Geertruida could be up for a reunion with Arne Slot at Liverpool. Last season the player made 47 appearances for Slot’s Feyenoord recording a total of nine goals and five assists.

The 23-year-old is an excellent right-back and displays a lot of quality in the final third of the pitch. Since Slot is the manager who helped get the best out of him, it only makes sense that the Dutch manager could persue him to come to Anfield.

However, Geertruida would have other options to come to the Premier League. West Ham United, Tottenham Hotspur, and Newcastle United are also said to be interested in the player, which could make things difficult for the Reds.

The main thing about Geertruida is how consistent he is. Last season he only missed one game for Feyenoord and the one that he missed was because of the flu. He’s a physcial specimen who could easily handle the intensity of the Premier League.

This makes the 23-year-old a viable option for any team that is looking to add more depth to their defence this summer. A deal for Geertruida won’t be too expensive either since he only has one year left on his deal with the Dutch side.

It is looking very likely that the Reds could pounce on a move for Geertruida this summer. Arne Slot will surely play a key role in the proceedings since he’s familiar with the player.
