Liverpool forward Darwin Nunez created another off-field chaos by liking an Instagram story linking him with an AC Milan move. The Uruguayan international’s action immediately divided the fanbase with many calling out his eccentric social media behaviour in the past.
At the same time, many fans argued that the 25-year-old struggling forward liked his picture without understanding its transfer context. Nunez is playing his third season at the club since the high-value transfer from Benfica under the legendary Jurgen Klopp.
With head coach Arne Slot now in charge of Liverpool, fans outlined this season as a make-or-break season for Nunez. Nevertheless, Nunez’s season struggle with contribution and recent issues with overall performance has not won any more support this season.

While the 25-year-old is not exactly a disaster signing or a “flop”, he is not contributing at the desired level. Liverpool are fighting for all the titles every season and they need a more consistent number nine representing them regularly.
The Uruguay international has scored 37 goals and provided 20 assists from 119 appearances in all competitions since joining Liverpool. While the contribution is decent, it is nowhere near the level that a player of his price tag should deliver.
According to MailOnline, Milan have made no contact with Liverpool to sign Nunez despite his Instagram activity. Nevertheless, the undesired activity has once again raised the question of the future of Uruguay international.
Liverpool’s attack are thriving this season with legendary winger Mohamed Salah displaying the best form of his prolific career. Furthermore, Luis Diaz and Cody Gakpo have displayed incredible consistency with their performance and contribution this season.
At the same time, Diogo Jota has maintained his status as a lethal finisher despite struggling with injuries. With Federico Chiesa gradually regaining his fitness, Nunez is the only forward who is struggling to contribute consistently in attack.

The 25-year-old has scored four goals and provided three assists from 23 games in all competitions under Slot so far. Nunez needs to understand that he has received unconditional backing from the core Anfield supporters, who deserve more respect. At the same time, there is a good argument that going separate ways is mutually beneficial for both the forward and the club.
