Chiesa planning on Liverpool stay this month
Liverpool signed Federico Chiesa from Juventus in the summer with the Italian international becoming Arne Slot’s first signing since taking over Anfield’s managerial role from Jurgen Klopp. The forward was signed after he was excluded from Thiago Motta’s plans in Turin and came to the Premier League with barely any pre-season training under his belt.

Consequent to that, the first six months of his spell at Liverpool have been marred by fitness problems as well as exclusion from Arne Slot’s squads. In the cup competitions as well, Chiesa has found minutes hard to come by, thereby causing the media to raise doubts regarding his future on Merseyside and linking the player with a move back to Italy just half a season in.
Sky Sports Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg has rubbished such rumours, however, as he revealed that Chiesa plans on staying at Liverpool at least for the remainder of the season. Having penned a contract with the six-time Champions League victors until 2028, the 27-year-old is determined to succeed in the Premier League.
Chiesa’s situation regarding his game time might not get much better for the next few months either or at least until the point Liverpool are able to clinch the Premier League crown and then turn their attention fully towards the Champions League. However, there is enough reason to think that he will be a successful signing in due course.

If Mohamed Salah, Chiesa’s playing time will exponentially increase and more importantly, he would have the chance to build chemistry with his Liverpool teammates over the course of pre-season later in the year. It is a crucial phase in a player’s preparation for the proper season and could hold the ex-Juve star in good stead, especially considering his high potential.
