Liverpool will not sign Saul Niguez ‘unless there’s a change of heart
Journalist James Pearce via The Athletic reported about the update on the likelihood of Saul Niguez ending up at Liverpool. According to the report, the club are unlikely to sign the Spaniard. He has been offered to a lot of clubs. However, Saul’s wage demands are currently an issue. Pearce does not see a deal unless Liverpool change their stance.
Earlier, Spanish outlet SPORT (h/t Daily Star) reported Liverpool’s interest in Saul. It claimed that the Reds are “favourites” to secure the signature of the Atletico Madrid man.
The report added that Saul has indeed been given the green light to leave. The Spanish side consider him non-essential after the arrival of Rodrigo de Paul.
Should Liverpool sign Saul?
Saul Niguez is a product of Atletico Madrid’s academy. He grew through the ranks and made his first-team debut in 2012. He won the Copa del Rey in his first season with the senior team. Since then trophies have come at a regular interval for the player.
He was an essential player in the Atletico Madrid squad which won the La Liga last season. He made 33 appearances in the league during their title-winning campaign. However, the report suggests that Atletico Madrid are willing to let Saul.
