Liverpool’s Attacking Target Could Be Heading To This Famous Club

Liverpool’s hunt for an attacking player has hit yet another stumbling block. The Reds were linked with a move for Paris Saint-Germain forward Jese Rodriguez but reports from Italy suggest that the Spaniard could be on his way to join Roma from the Serie A.

The youngster had only moved to Paris from Real Madrid in the summer for a fee touted to be £21m. But he has not been able to get into the starting XI and has only scored twice all season so far. Corriere dello Sport

claims that Jese would be joining the Rome side on loan as PSG want him to get more playing time.

This certainly does put a spanner in the works of Jurgen Klopp. The German manager has been looking for a quality attacker to bring in the winter window and Jese certainly would have fit the bill, basis the kind of play employed at the Reds.

This would be another player that seems to have decided against coming to Liverpool as Christian Pulisic and even Mahmoud Dahoud are stars that seem to be sticking to their current clubs, at least for now.

The need for Liverpool to bring in quality attacking players is certainly increasing as the Reds look to continue their great start to the season.

No Mane, more problems?

The Merseyside club will lose out on the services of Sadio Mane in the months of January and February as he will be traveling to the African Cup of Nations. The need to have quality cover and backup is a necessity as there really aren’t enough players who can make a huge difference to the side and if players such as Philippe Coutinho and Daniel Sturridge pick up injuries again, Liverpool will be in trouble.

The Reds might get a little lucky with the return of Coutinho and Sturridge in the side but they still need quality off the bench or for cover. Jese could have been a great option for the side but the Premier League club will have to try and make it without the Spaniard till the end of the season.

Quincy Promes is another player who has been on the radar for the Reds and the Dutchman could be the only player that does join the side in the winter window. The 24-year-old is a player similar to Mane’s playing style and wouldn’t cost a real fortune either.

Liverpool could still steal Jese from the grasp of Roma and if they do, maybe a Premier League title could be on the way.
