Liverpool FC transfer news: Napoli boss open to selling Lorenzo Insigne

Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis has confirmed that star attacker Lorenzo Insigne could leave in the summer (h/t Liverpool Echo).

The 28-year-old is one of the best talents in the Italian league and scored 14 goals for Napoli last season.

Insigne is being targeted by Liverpool.

Insigne can play on either wing or as a central striker, and the Liverpool Echo claims that the Italian has been linked with the Reds previously.

Laurentiis admitted that the club could sell Allan and Insigne as both are tipped to leave the Naples club (h/t Liverpool Echo):

“If we receive offers that can allow us to replace them then we can talk about it.”

The president further claimed that clubs have a deadline to work with if they wanted to sign the pair:

“If not, if we receive offers in the last 10 days of the transfer window then it’s not possible anymore.”

Insigne won’t come on the cheap given his ability and age, but he would be a great addition for Jurgen Klopp to work with.

The Italian would provide competition for the front three and already is a world-class talent.

Liverpool have a couple of young options for the attack

Insigne’s speed and versatility would be great for the Reds, but Liverpool can call upon the services of Divock Origi and Rhian Brewster next season.

Origi was excellent off the bench in the previous campaign and scored some crucial goals.

Brewster is one of the brightest players coming through the ranks and should feature in the first-team under Klopp soon.
