Citing that there was no particular reason for Liverpool not having any French players in the team, Klopp went on to say that the club would like to have them – if not for the cost.

“We would like to have a French player, but some of them are too expensive for us.”

France are the current World Cup holders and have a young core of talented players.

With Liverpool consistently being linked with a move for Paris Saint-Germain wonder kid Kylian Mbappe, Klopp’s comments could be interpreted as a sign that the club will not be making a move for the Frenchman (h/t Liverpool Echo
