Former Manchester United defender Ferdinand though, has advised Sancho to avoid joining our club as he would not be able to walk into the starting line-up at Anfield.

That is not to say that he doesn’t have the potential to become a top player in the Premier League. Ferdinand reckons that the 20-year-old has the X-factor to be a massive hit at any club he joins. But the former Manchester United man is of the belief that Sancho would have to wait to become a regular feature in our team.

During his Instagram Q&A session the Englishman said (h/t Metro):

“As good as Jadon Sancho is I don’t think he gets into Liverpool’s team right now. Whether he’s a better player than any of them, right now I don’t think he is.”

Ferdinand has a point in saying that our attacking trident of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane has been absolutely top-notch over the past couple of years. And Sancho, despite enjoying a rapid rise in stature at Dortmund, might not become a regular starter at Liverpool right away should he join the club.
